"Changing Perceptions" brings together images providing an insightful look into the heart of UK and Egyptian communities and shows powerful, intimate moments of the exchange and the 6,000 hours of community volunteering completed during the programme.
To see a wide selection of these images please visit our Flickr galleries and the YouTube slideshow, or watch our presentation of the project in PDF format.
The exhibition features accomplished photographic works by 24 young volunteers from the UK, Egypt, Yemen, Morocco, Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Netherlands, together with the work of the Den Haag based professional photographer Sander Foederer.
"Changing Perceptions" uses the creative imagery of the volunteers and Sander Foederer to document the journey they made with local people and places.
The images show how young people’s perceptions change, as they develop a new sense of cultural diversity and identity.
‘As a Muslim in the UK, I have been living the British way of life, especially with friend...
So, for me to go away and live in a Muslim country, with others from different countries, to participate in debates has helped me to come up with my own set of rules, and my own limits.’
Zaynah (UK)
