Partners Workshop
Barcelona
24 – 26 November 2008
Objectives
The Barcelona event wanted to inform key organisations and institutions about the Our Shared Europe idea, as well as about the results of the related extensive consultation exercise, with the aim to win partners for the implementation of the project.
Specifically, it aimed to
- Build a broader partner and sponsor understanding of the Our Shared Europe project
- Discuss and testing the reports’ findings and recommendations for future action
- Create a network of partners and sponsors who have an interest and a commitment in taking forward the project in partnership with each other
It also created an opportunity for the participants to share experiences, good practice and lessons learnt in the area that Our Shared Europe aims to tackle, so that these can be build into the development of the project.
Participation in the workshop did not constitute any formal commitment to the project yet as the aim of the event was firstly to inform, consult and raise interest.
It provided the background necessary for the participating organisations to carefully consider, in liaison with the British Council, their potential involvement in the implementation of the project.
It will be followed up by a series of individual meetings at which the British Council and those organisations that have expressed interest in project partnership will decide about the governance and the eventual portfolio of activities of Our Shared Europe.
